Wushu
Wushu, as practiced at UCI, is a non-contact martial arts, emphasizing on coordination and performance. Wushu, meaning “martial arts,” represents a collection of all Chinese martial arts, but is often used to refer the more modern styles of its traditional counterpart: Kung Fu. At UCI, the Wushu club strives to build a strong sense of community, fitness, and sportsmanship that extends to both our own athletes as well as numerous Wushu athletes around the country. The club accepts all skill levels and facilitates consistent improvement with multiple practices throughout the week, performances at numerous events on and off campus throughout the year, and intercollegiate interactions through competitions and joint practices. Overall, Wushu Club aims to build friendship through both fitness and culture.
