OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING TRAINING - View the Video

The Anteater Recreation Center is excited to introduce an Olympic weightlifting area in the Fitness Lab. Complete with an Olympic lifting platform, bumper plates and liquid chalk, the Olympic lifting area is a monitored, controlled space where UCI students and ARC Members may perform Olympic-style lifts after meeting certain safety criteria. Everyone is required to take a practical test in order to use the platforms. For more information on what to expect for the practical test, please download the PDF files below.

Olympic Weightlifting is taught by the ARC's Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists and Level 1 USWA coaches. Private or semi-private coaching sessions are available upon request.  For more information or questions on Olympic Lifting, please contact Will Ramirez.

Beginning Olympic Weightlifting is taught by the ARC's Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists and Level 1 USAW coaches. This class is for students with limited or no weightlifting experience. The class is designed to teach proper squat and deadlift technique before moving onto the progressions of the Olympic Snatch, and the Clean and Jerk. Private or semi-private coaching sessions are available upon request. Private coaching is available for $40 per session. Semi-Private lessons are $50 per lesson ($25 each student). *Olympic Weightlifting classes are only open to current UCI Students and ARC Members
